About the Company:
Cross Agricultural Engineering Ltd. specializes in designing and manufacturing farm, biogas, commercial, and food processing machinery. The company employs 40 staff in a modern factory, each with dedicated work bays, allowing for personalized projects and less monotonous work compared to production lines.
Apprenticeship Programme:
Our training programme is among the best in the country, offering comprehensive experience in metal fabrication. After four years, apprentices will be highly skilled metal fabricators and will receive a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft – Metal Fabrication.
The apprenticeship includes four on-the-job phases with Cross and three off-the-job phases at an educational institution, scheduled via SOLAS. Completion requires successful passing of all phases over a minimum of four years.
Compensation and Trial Period:
* Apprentices are paid above the ETB recommended wage, with a training allowance during off-the-job training.
* All new hires undergo a one-month trial period before official enrollment into the apprenticeship.
Minimum Requirements:
* Junior Certificate completed; Leaving Certificate is a bonus.
* Relevant subjects such as Engineering, Tech Drawing, Woodwork, Physics, or Chemistry are advantageous.
* Must be 16 years or older.
* No prior experience required; training provided.
* Good communication skills.
* Ability to read manufacturing drawings is a plus.
* Teamwork skills.
* Previous engineering experience is a bonus.
