Arcadis are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to work on Datacenter projects with a Big Tech client in Dublin. This position is offered on an 18-month contract basis and is primarily remote.
Position Summary
The ideal candidate will be a Senior Civil Engineer with expertise in datacenter and critical environment engineering. Candidate shall be a team player able to work in a multi-disciplined environment dealing with a large-scale global program. The candidates must also be able to work with other technical and non-technical groups in a fast- paced environment and do so with an even temperament. The candidate must be a person of integrity, be methodical, detailed-oriented with a strong work ethic.
Job Description
The Civil Engineer will provide leadership and coordinated direction for civil engineering works as it pertains to the development of datacenter builds and site selection due diligence. The Civil Engineer will engage with key client stakeholders, authorities having jurisdiction as well as outside consultants and contractors that specialize in datacenter engineering builds.
Key responsibilities
This position will manage multiple projects on a global scale and be part of the core team that's launching the client cloud infrastructure worldwide. The successful candidate will manage projects aligned with a defined scope, schedule and budget as well as support site selection efforts, management of due diligence firms and discussions with authorities having jurisdiction. Civil Engineer will have experience in dealing with utilities as they relate to selecting datacenter sites. The candidate will provide technical direction to our vendors who includes professional civil engineers, professional architects and professional structural engineers.
Knowledge, experience and skills
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
* Registered Professional (Chartered) Civil Engineer
* Ability to lead teams of engineers in advanced engineering and operational processes and procedures as they relate to large datacenter environments
* Minimum of 10 years’ experience in civil engineering with experience leading large scale critical infrastructure projects
* Minimum of 7 years’ experience in due diligence for Greenfield, brownfield, retrofit and expansion of large-scale facilities including and not limited to geotechnical report analysis, topographic and boundary survey review, Code/Covenant/Restriction and coordination with Authorities having Jurisdiction and utility capacity constraint review
* Experience in navigating in CAD, Revit, Sketchup, Bluebeam and/or BIM software for drawing review and development of conceptual level master plans during site selection and early design phases is desirable
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and maintain high quality standards
* Excellent knowledge of building codes and regulations
* Experience working in high critical environment projects
* Experience and working knowledge in land acquisition, planning, permitting and development
* Ability to prepare and present using MS office packages
Preferred, not required
* BIM and AutoCAD experience is a preference
