FT's team of skilled civil, structural, and geotechnical engineers and scientists delivers comprehensive, sustainable design and project management solutions. We offer end‑to‑end consultancy services, encompassing site selection, feasibility studies, option evaluation, planning, detailed design, procurement, contract administration, and construction supervision. FT's integrated approach ensures cost‑effective and sustainable outcomes for both public and private sector clients.
FT is seeking to appoint a Senior Engineer to join our Sustainable Infrastructure team in Cork, Carlow or Dublin offices.
The successful candidate will become part of an established and dynamic company, with the opportunity to expand their expertise and broaden their professional experience. The role provides exposure to a diverse range of projects, including national road schemes, greenway and active travel, public transport projects, and major design and build schemes.
Responsibilities
Design of highways, active travel, greenways and public transport projects
Responsible for preparation of designs and reports at all stages of a project lifecycle
Act as a mentor to junior team members
Work closely with other engineers, ecologists and environmental scientists within the company
Ensure compliance with our quality assurance and management systems
Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation
Qualifications
Degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering
Chartered Engineer status, or working towards achieving Chartered status
8 years post‑graduate experience in the design of transportation projects
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Working knowledge of relevant Irish design standards including TII publications, DMURS, and Cycle Design Manual
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
Experience in design and build projects is a plus
