A growing Irish energy company is seeking a Head of Trading & Portfolio Management to establish and lead a new trading function. This role will manage power and gas portfolios, drive trading performance, oversee risk management, and support the company's growth strategy.Responsibilities:Build and lead the Dublin Trading Team, managing all trading operationsManage demand portfolios via forwards/CfDs, PPAs, OTC, and exchange-traded instruments to minimise imbalance and portfolio riskDevelop and implement hedging strategies (including VaR or similar methodologies) Oversee the development of ETRM and Portfolio Management systemsDevise and maintain optimal procurement and trading strategies for electricity and gas within the I-SEMCollaborate with the commercial team on pricing strategies and new product developmentEnsure full compliance with REMIT, EMIR, and other relevant trading regulationsCandidate Requirements:Strong knowledge of I-SEM and All-Island gas markets, with familiarity across wider European energy marketsProven experience in portfolio management within a power or gas supply businessExpertise in hedging strategy design, market analysis, and risk management toolsExperience developing trading capabilities and responding to market or policy changesLeadership experience managing teamsIn-depth understanding of energy market instruments (IBP/NIBP/NBP/EU gas, ISEM/GB/EU power, coal, emissions).Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks including REMIT, EMIR, and the Trading & Settlement CodeStrong commercial awareness, analytical ability, and strategic mindsetShow more Show less
