This opportunity is open from Junior to Staff level.On-site in Cork, IrelandResponsibilities:High-Performance Strategy Collaboration: Partner with the CPU modeling team to explore and develop strategies for achieving optimal performance.Microarchitecture Design and Specification: Drive the process from high-level architectural concepts through microarchitectural exploration to detailed design specifications.RTL Design and Optimization: Take ownership of RTL development, focusing on refining the design to meet power, performance, area, and timing objectives.Verification Support: Collaborate with functional and performance verification teams to ensure the RTL design meets both functional correctness and performance targets.Design Implementation and Delivery: Contribute to the physical design process alongside cross-functional teams, addressing timing, area, power, reliability, and testability.Requirements:Deep Microarchitecture Expertise: Strong understanding of microprocessor architecture, with specialization in areas such as instruction fetch/decode, branch prediction, out-of-order execution, execution units, memory subsystems, and caching strategies.Hardware Description Languages: Proficient in Verilog and/or VHDL, with hands-on experience using simulation and waveform debugging tools.Digital Logic and Design Principles: Solid grasp of logic design fundamentals, including timing, power, and area considerations.Low Power and High Performance Techniques: Familiar with low-power design strategies and the performance trade-offs inherent in CPU microarchitecture.Scripting and Automation Skills: Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Perl to support design, analysis, and automation tasks.Please not visa sponsorship is not supported below Staff level for this role.If this role is of interest please apply directly on LinkedIn or send a copy of your CV to alex@eu-recruit.com.By applying to this role you understand that we may collect your personal data and store and process it on our systems.
