Senior Data Protection Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Protection Specialist to join our dynamic global privacy team. This pivotal role will involve leading innovative data-driven strategies while ensuring compliance with European data protection laws.

About the Role:

* Advising on a wide range of data privacy and related issues across clinical research, commercial marketing, patient support, cybersecurity, and AI.
* Collaborating with internal stakeholders to assess and mitigate privacy risks in new initiatives and projects.
* Monitoring current and emerging data privacy regulations and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Supporting the implementation of privacy laws across Europe, including operationalizing GDPR requirements.
* Educating teams on data protection obligations under GDPR and other applicable laws.
* Serving as the primary contact for data privacy authorities while coordinating with the business and Chief Privacy Officer.
* Managing external counsel, consultants, and internal resources to ensure effective program execution.

Requirements:

* Possess strong expertise in GDPR and its application within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
* Thrive in collaborative environments and can build strong relationships across all levels of an organization.
* Have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, and can translate complex legal concepts into actionable business counsel.
* Demonstrate a high level of business acumen and can effectively influence and drive change.
* Are eager to take on a leadership role in a fast-paced, dynamic, and challenging field.
* To be considered, you must be admitted to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction with a minimum of 7-10 years of legal experience, including a minimum of 4 years in privacy-related roles.
* You must have a background in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or related life sciences.
* Fluency in English is mandatory, additional languages and experience in US or multinational companies are preferred.
