Manufacturing Engineer (Assembly)
Responsibilities
1. Problem solving and troubleshooting on non-conforming materials, customer complaints, and incapable processes.
2. Ensuring that processes are set up and monitored according to work instructions.
3. Mentoring technicians and operators to drive improvements.
4. Participating in the development of cell layouts, material handling, and work plans to optimize lean manufacturing.
5. Evaluating and correcting non-conforming products and processes in accordance with controls and procedures, including MRB participation.
6. Engaging in plant corrective/preventive and continuous improvement programs.
7. Participating in internal and vendor audit programs.
8. Supporting new cell development and layout, providing engineering input early in product lifecycle stages.
9. Supporting process validation for new processes before transfer to production, with ownership transferring from NPI to Manufacturing Engineer.
10. Driving yield improvements using structured root cause analysis.
11. Enhancing output and efficiency with lean tools and methodologies.
12. Managing customer relationships to ensure supply, resolve technical issues, and plan change management in compliance with QMS.
13. Identifying and implementing technical improvements.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree in Polymer, Science, Biomedical, or Mechanical Engineering or 5+ years of experience in a process assembly technician role within a medical device environment, including clean room manufacturing, validations, process controls, and lean manufacturing.
* Students or apprentices will be supervised by a fully competent individual.
* An Associate position may be available for limited experience, assigned to an experienced engineer.
* A Senior position may be available for candidates with at least 4 years of experience.
* Desirable:
* Lean Systems Green Belt (LSGB) Certified
* Six Sigma Green Belt (SSGB) Certified
