The Role:
Reporting to the NPI / Technical Compliance function, the Specification Technologist will be responsible for completing and maintaining accurate customer and internal product specifications, while supporting new product introductions and ongoing compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete customer specifications accurately and within agreed timelines
Liaise with suppliers and procurement to ensure raw material compliance
Act as a technical point of contact for specification-related queries
Support new product launches to ensure products are safe, legal and compliant
Generate product information sheets for new and updated products
Calculate nutritional values and assess nutrition and allergen claims
Review and approve labels and pack copy in line with current legislation
Manage customer artwork approvals
Maintain internal specification systems and trackers
Participate in sensory analysis as required
Support continuous improvement projects within Technical / NPD
Requirements:
Third-level degree in Food Science, Culinary Science, Scienceor related discipline
Knowledge of HACCP, food legislation and labelling requirements
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Good communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work on own initiative and manage multiple deadlines
Experience in a specifications or technical role within food manufacturing desirable
