Job Summary
Zurich Life Assurance Plc is seeking a Trainee Accountant to join the Unit Pricing team within the Investment Back Office of the Finance Function. The team’s primary responsibility is to ensure accurate daily valuation of Zurich’s unit-linked funds and proper management of policyholder cashflow instructions.
This role can be offered part-time or full-time, depending on the candidate’s availability. We are flexible to accommodate the best candidates.
The position is a “Controlled Function (CF)” under the Central Bank Reform Act, 2010, contingent upon the company’s satisfaction that you meet the Central Bank Fitness and Probity Standards and hold relevant qualifications from an MCC perspective.
Your Role
You will work as part of the Unit Pricing team, ensuring timely delivery of daily and monthly unit pricing tasks, and supporting project work such as fund launches and closures. You will also gain exposure to other teams within the Investment Back Office, including Investment Accounts, Settlements, Investment Compliance, and Self-Directed.
Key responsibilities include:
* Ensuring efficient execution of tasks and controls within Unit Pricing within our risk framework
* Processing policyholder cash flows into and out of the funds
* Verifying and reviewing instrument pricing daily
* Pricing of unit-linked funds and validating fund performance
* Supporting ad-hoc projects
* Implementing process improvements and controls
* Collaborating with local Financial, Fund Administration, Actuarial, and Group Reporting teams
Your Skills and Experience
Required qualifications and skills include:
* A third-level qualification in finance, mathematics, or related fields such as Accountancy, Finance, Business, or Mathematics
* Part-qualified accountant or willingness to pursue ACA, ACCA, or CIMA
* Strong Microsoft Office skills
* Excellent communication skills
* Financial services experience is advantageous

Additional Information
The primary work location is Blackrock, Dublin. The role is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days in the office per week.
