OverviewOur client, a specialist engineering business delivering complex, bespoke projects, is seeking aHead of Operational Deliveryto strengthen how work flows through the organisation.Operating in a technically nuanced, fast-paced environment, this role exists to simplify delivery without over-engineering it. The focus is on creating clear, consistent, and intuitive ways of working that support bespoke delivery, improve predictability, and reduce unnecessary firefighting.Reporting directly to the MD / COO, this is a hands-on leadership role with clear authority and accountability for operational delivery outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn and improve the end-to-end flow of work from enquiry through delivery and close-out.Identify where variation is necessary versus where it is unmanaged or avoidable.Simplify and standardise core operational processes.Lead and deliver practical improvement initiatives across planning, scoping, execution, and reporting.Work closely with engineering and operational teams to design solutions grounded in reality.Drive implementation personally, ensuring changes are embedded and sustained.Improve visibility and predictability across delivery performance, including time, cost, margin, and quality.Challenge unclear logic, weak handovers, and inconsistent practices constructively.Use technology and digital tools to reduce admin and improve operational clarity.The Ideal CandidateProven experience leading operational delivery or change in complex, non-standard environments.Background in engineering, manufacturing, construction, or project-led businesses.Commercially astute, with a strong understanding of margin, risk, and delivery trade-offs.Technically credible and confident working with engineers and technical teams.Calm, resilient, and accountable, with the confidence to challenge and the judgement to listen.Clear communicator who leaves teams clearer, not overloaded.The PackageBase salary of €80,000 - €90,000Performance-related bonusDirect reporting line to MD / COO with a clear mandate to drive changeLong-term progression opportunity within a growing engineering business
