About the NDC
The National Dairy Council (NDC) is a farmer-funded representative body that advocates for dairy as part of an increasingly sustainably produced food system; as a key component in a healthy balanced diet; and as a sector, indispensable to Ireland's social and economic wellbeing.
Our primary strategic objectives are to:
1. Foster a positive view of dairy farming among the public to support the social license.[1]
2. Celebrate the consumption of dairy, encouraging the population to meet the dietary guidelines.

The social license to operate (SLO) refers to the ongoing acceptance by the general public of dairy's practices and their impact on society and environment. In Ireland, we produce significantly more dairy than the population consumes; more than 90% is for export. Protecting and growing the social license requires dairy as an industry to be seen as operating responsibly and for the greater good.
The NDC is currently structured across three pillars:

About the Role
The PR & Marketing Communication Executive will play a pivotal role in supporting the Marketing & Communications team. This role reporting into the Brand Manager supports the Marketing & Communications function, helping to shape public perception, drive consumer engagement, and amplify the voice of Ireland's dairy sector.
Key Responsibilities
Public Relations & Media
* Assist in planning and executing PR campaigns focused on sustainability, health, and dairy's positive story.
* Manage day-to-day media relations including press releases and media lists in collaboration with their PR agency.
* Draft messaging for key events, launches, campaigns and topical issues.
* Monitor media coverage and produce regular PR performance/sentiment reports.
* Support event management and press opportunities.
Communications & Content
* Draft and edit compelling content for press releases, newsletters, and website updates.
* Ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.
* Help coordinate photography, videography, and storytelling assets that showcase Irelands dairy sector.
* Maintain and optimize NDC's digital platforms (NDC website, YouTube, social media).
* Manage media-related subscriptions and renewals.
Marketing, Campaign & Event Support
* Collaborate with the marketing team to align PR activity with wider consumer campaigns.
* Support influencer and ambassador programmes.
* Contribute to digital and social media content development.
* Provide hands on support at consumer, school, and farmer events to ensure strong brand representation.
* Develop email marketing content to engage consumers and farmers and grow segmented databases via Mailchimp.
Internal & Stakeholder Communications
* Support internal updates and communications to NDC members and partners.
* Assist in preparing stakeholder reports, presentations, and materials.
Skills & Experience
* Degree in Communications, PR, Marketing, or related field.
* 2–3 years' experience in PR, communications, or marketing (agency or in-house).
* Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
* Strong project management and multitasking abilities.
* Experience working with media and influencers.
* Knowledge of agriculture, food, nutrition, or sustainability (a plus).
* Proficiency in digital platforms, CMS (WordPress), and email tools (Mailchimp, HubSpot).
* Detail-oriented with a proactive, can-do attitude.
* Full clean driving license and access to transport (occasional travel required).
* Must be eligible to work in Ireland.
