Amazon Web Services (AWS) is hiring a highly motivated, best‑in‑class Cluster Security Manager to oversee physical security at our data centers.
Job responsibilities include managing a team of Security Managers responsible for on‑site operational physical security of our data centers. This covers management of access control systems and processes, guard force, contract and vendor management, risk assessment and management, reporting of security metrics, audits, incident reporting, and compliance with SOC1, SOC2, ISO27001, and Amazon security policies.
Key Job Responsibilities
* Manage daily operations of vendors providing security services, training and risk assessment; conduct investigations of violations as needed.
* Collaborate with internal teams (Data Center Engineering, DC Operations) and external partners (vendors, emergency services) related to daily operations.
* Develop security plans for on‑site special events and unique security situations, ensuring proper access control and evacuation procedures.
* Perform data analysis and create benchmarking to support risk assessments and threat identification.
* Partner with DC Engineering and other Amazon business units to identify safety and security deficiencies and develop tailored policies and procedures to achieve compliance with internal and external regulations.
* Work with peers in other geographic regions and travel as required.
Basic Qualifications
* Experience in facility/corporate security management, law enforcement, risk management, legal, or related industries.
* Experience in incident management, threat management, corporate investigations, law enforcement, security operations, crisis management, or a related field that involves threat assessments, workplace investigations, and/or incident response.
* Experience in risk management and internal audit—including performing risk assessments and audits, designing controls, managing enterprise control frameworks, and prioritizing risks.
* Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
* 10+ years of security operations, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience collaborating with global and local stakeholders.
* Knowledge of local laws, investigations, security-related matters, and workplace safety.
* Knowledge of current security technology, including access control, CCTV, identification, and special applications.
