Stack & Co are partnering with a confidential enterprise technology client hiring a senior technical leader for a Technical Solution Director – GenAI.
This is a technical architecture and senior engineering leadership role, not a delivery management, account management or sales role. It will suit someone who can shape complex enterprise solutions, earn credibility with senior software engineers, and explain technical decisions clearly to senior business stakeholders.
The role
You will take ownership of technical direction across a portfolio of enterprise technology projects, with a strong focus on production-grade GenAI, AI, data and digital technology solutions.
The role needs someone who understands how modern software is actually built and delivered in complex enterprise environments. You do not need to be coding full-time, but you do need a genuine software engineering background and enough current technical credibility to challenge assumptions, guide architecture decisions and work effectively with senior engineering teams.
This is a role for someone who can balance ambition with practical delivery. The client is building advanced technology solutions for large organisations, so the work needs to be secure, scalable, understandable and realistic to run in production.
What you’ll be doing
You will be responsible for shaping enterprise solution architecture across multiple active projects.
You will guide engineering teams on technical approach, architecture decisions, integration patterns, risk, trade-offs and production readiness.
You will review proposed solutions and identify technical issues early, before they become delivery or client problems.
You will help turn complex technical thinking into clear proposals, options and recommendations that senior non-technical stakeholders can understand.
You will work closely with delivery and client-facing colleagues, but your main responsibility is technical direction, engineering credibility and solution quality.
You will help raise engineering standards through influence, mentoring, shared patterns, documentation and good technical judgement.
What we’re looking for
Strong enterprise solution architecture experience.
Experience designing or guiding complex enterprise systems, ideally involving security, data, integration, compliance, legacy systems or production-scale delivery.
Ability to give technical direction across more than one project or workstream at a time.
Credibility with senior engineers and the confidence to challenge technical decisions when needed.
Strong judgement around what will actually work in production, not just what looks good on a slide.
Ability to explain technical options, risks and trade-offs clearly to senior business stakeholders.
Interest in GenAI, AI, data platforms, digital intelligence or advanced enterprise technology.
A practical, balanced approach to architecture: modern where useful, simple where appropriate.
This role is likely to suit you if…
You have moved from hands‑on software engineering into senior architecture or technical leadership, but you are still close enough to engineering to be credible.
You enjoy working across multiple complex projects and helping teams make better technical decisions.
You can talk to engineers in technical detail, then explain the same decision in plain English to a business stakeholder.
You have worked in enterprise environments where architecture has to account for security, governance, integration, scale, operational reality and long-term maintainability.
You are interested in GenAI and advanced digital technology, but you are not interested in hype for the sake of it. You care about what can be built, deployed and supported properly.
This role is probably not right if…
You are a pure account manager or commercial lead.
You are mainly a delivery or programme manager without strong technical architecture depth.
You have not written production software or do not have a real software engineering background.
You are an architect who has become too far removed from engineering teams and technical trade-offs.
You are a very narrow specialist without broader enterprise architecture exposure.
You are looking for a people‑management‑only role.
You want a sales‑led role rather than a senior technical leadership role.
You mainly talk about AI at a high level but have not been close to real technical delivery.
Location
Remote in Ireland with a preference for Galway, West of Ireland, Cork, Dublin.
The role is strictly remote within Ireland. Candidates must already be based in Ireland and legally entitled to work in Ireland at the time of application.
There is no visa sponsorship and no relocation support available for this role.
