About the Role:

The successful candidate will be an accomplished educator with a passion for carpentry and joinery, possessing a deep understanding of the subject matter. As a key member of our academic team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students, fostering a supportive learning environment, and contributing to the development of curricula.

Key Responsibilities:

* Teach assigned classes, incorporating innovative teaching methods and assessment techniques to engage students and promote their growth.

* Carry out assessments, monitoring student progress, and providing constructive feedback to enhance their learning experience.

* Provide academic input on courses, collaborating with colleagues to develop and implement effective curriculum design.

* Engage in research, consultancy, and development work, staying abreast of industry trends and best practices.

* Participate in committees and meetings, contributing to decision-making processes and shaping the academic direction of our institution.

* Maintain accurate records, adhering to data protection protocols and ensuring information is accessible as required.

* Engage in promotional activities, including student recruitment, to enhance the profile of our institution.

* Direct and supervise the work of tutors/demonstrators, taking responsibility for their academic standards and performance.

This role requires strong organizational and time-management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.


Required Qualifications and Skills:

The ideal candidate will possess:

* A relevant honours primary degree (second-class or higher) in a construction-related discipline or equivalent qualification.

* Completion of an appropriate full trade apprenticeship in Carpentry and Joinery or equivalent, along with relevant post-apprenticeship qualifications.

* Three years of relevant post-qualification experience, demonstrating a solid understanding of teaching, research, and academic administration.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

* Strong organisational and time-management skills, with a proven track record of meeting deadlines and prioritising tasks.

* A commitment to ongoing professional development, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.


Benefits:

This position offers a competitive salary scale, ranging from €46,601 to €63,104 per annum, along with opportunities for career progression and professional development.


Other Information:

Citizenship requirements dictate that candidates must be citizens of the European Economic Area (EEA) or hold a valid work permit. The EEA consists of the Member States of the European Union, the United Kingdom, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway. Swiss citizens under EU agreements may also apply.

The interview process will assess candidates' qualifications, experience, communications and pedagogical skills, professional and personal development potential, knowledge of the higher education sector, team working and organisational abilities, and any other relevant criteria deemed necessary.
