Overview
Infrastructure Decommission Technician, NCD role at Amazon Web Services (AWS).
AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain, and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.
You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help deliver high standards for safety and security while providing capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. You’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
The Network & Cable Decommissioning (NCD) team is looking to hire a highly motivated, self-driven decommissioning technician who will work closely with project managers, network engineers, and operations teams to recover cabling infrastructure and sanitize legacy abandoned cable. The NCD Tech will be responsible for executing assigned efforts and communicating status updates of those tasks.
The team’s primary focus is to reclaim capacity by safely removing decommissioned legacy network equipment and old cabling infrastructure, enabling a lifecycle approach for the physical layer of our data center network to maximize existing DC space utilization.
