Healthcare Role Overview
We are seeking a healthcare professional to join our care team in St Colmcille's Nursing Home.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Supporting the nursing staff in delivering quality person-centred care to meet the needs of residents.
* Getting to know residents' interests and needs, providing attention, support and companionship.
* Promoting the mobility of residents, supervising and assisting as necessary to ensure optimum mobility is maintained and improved where possible.
* Enabling and assisting residents to maintain their personal appearance/hygiene needs whilst always maintaining their dignity.
* Assisting with daily living tasks such as eating, drinking and achieving physical comfort.
* Participating in social activities and developing good relationships between residents, families and staff.
* Contributing to the maintenance of high standards of cleanliness and Health and Safety within the home.
This role requires flexibility in availability and ability to work day and night shifts.
Essential Requirements
* FETAC/QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare or equivalent.
* Experience working in a healthcare environment with knowledge of HIQA standards preferable.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work independently or part of a team.
* Fluent level of English both written and oral.
