Basic Role Summary:
The Learning & Development (L&D) Specialist supports the delivery, governance, and continuous improvement of learning initiatives across all departments within Chanelle Pharma. Working closely with the Director of People & Culture this role ensures that all learning programmes are effectively coordinated, documented, and compliant with internal and external quality standards. The role contributes to a culture of capability, engagement, and continuous learning while maintaining alignment with GMP, compliance, and audit requirements.
Location: Onsite at our facility in Loughrea, role is eligible for Hybrid policy after completion of probation period.
As our Learning and Development Specialist, your key responsibilities will be as follows:
* Coordinate and manage end-to-end delivery of technical and behavioural learning programmes, including scheduling, logistics, communications, materials preparation, and evaluation.
* Manage and maintain the Learning Management System (LMS) or other digital learning platforms, ensuring data integrity, compliance with training records, and audit readiness.
* Track and report participation, completion, and compliance metrics to support site audits and regulatory inspections.
* Partner with departmental training leads to ensure GMP, Quality, EHS, and role-specific training requirements are met and accurately recorded.
* Support the facilitation, coordination, and continuous improvement of the company induction and onboarding process for new hires.
* Ensure learning materials, records, and training activities comply with internal SOPs and external regulatory standards (e.g., GMP, GDP).
* Maintain and update Learning & Development–related SOPs in collaboration with Quality and HR.
* Raise and track Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) related to training, documentation, or audit findings to ensure timely closure and compliance.
* Support periodic review and revision of training documentation to ensure ongoing alignment with current practices and quality standards.
* Ensure audit-readiness by maintaining accurate training records and supporting internal and external inspections.
* Participate in investigations or root-cause analyses where training gaps are identified, contributing to continuous quality improvement.
* Build strong working relationships with managers, HR, technical trainers, and internal customers to understand capability needs and coordinate learning delivery.
* Act as a trusted L&D partner supporting the administration and coordination of cross-functional initiatives such as leadership development, engagement, and culture programmes.
* Support organisation-wide Learning Needs Analyses (LNA) to identify skills gaps and capability requirements.
* Liaise with internal subject matter experts and external vendors to coordinate high-quality, compliant learning solutions.
* Support the project management of L&D initiatives, ensuring clear timelines, resources, and communication with stakeholders.
* Manage supplier coordination for external training vendors, ensuring service delivery aligns with scope, quality, and budget.
* Monitor programme effectiveness and provide regular progress reports and updates.
* Maintain comprehensive training records and generate reports to measure training effectiveness, compliance rates, and performance impact.
* Analyse training data, feedback, and KPIs to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the L&D function and the wider Organisation Development & Engagement team.
* Keep up to date with emerging trends in learning technology, instructional design, and digital learning innovations.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Experience in a Learning & Development or Training Administration role within a regulated pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or similar environment.
* Proven experience managing LMS data, training documentation, and supporting internal/external audits.
* Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook). Experienced in learning design tools such as Canva, Articulate, or similar.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels.
* Qualification in Learning & Development, Human Resources, or Organisational Development (e.g., CIPD, L&DI, or equivalent) desirable.
* Experience updating SOPs and managing or raising CAPAs desirable.
* Working knowledge of GMP/GDP requirements and compliance training processes desirable.
* Understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design models, and evaluation methodologies desirable.
* Familiarity with e-learning authoring tools and digital learning platforms desirable.
* Experience supporting leadership, engagement, or cultural development initiatives desirable.
