Role Overview:
Due to continued growth, Martin Reddin Projects has multiple openings for Site Managers / Foremen to supervise on-site operations on our construction projects throughout Leinster. The Site Manager/Foreman is responsible for the day-to-day running of construction sites, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, and to the required quality standards. This role requires strong leadership on site, coordination of trades, and hands-on problem-solving to drive projects forward efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
* Site Supervision: Manage daily on-site construction activities, monitor progress against the program, and ensure work is carried out according to the project plans and specifications. Proactively address any on-site issues to prevent delays and maintain productivity.
* Coordination: Coordinate subcontractors, direct labour, and material deliveries to maintain an efficient workflow and adhere to the project schedule. Act as the primary on-site point of contact for all trades and ensure clear communication among the workforce.
* Health & Safety: Implement and enforce strict health and safety protocols on site in line with company and legal standards. Ensure all personnel on site possess the required safety certifications (Safe Pass, Manual Handling, etc.) and conduct regular site safety briefings.
* Quality Control: Inspect work completed by trades to ensure it meets design specifications and the company’s quality standards. Identify and rectify any workmanship issues early and maintain a snag list for corrective actions as needed.
* Problem Solving & Reporting: Resolve unexpected issues or conflicts on-site swiftly (e.g., scheduling conflicts, technical problems) to keep the project on track. Maintain accurate daily site logs and progress reports, reporting to the Contracts/Project Manager on key updates, milestones, and any issues.
* Team Leadership: Lead by example on site, motivating the workforce and promoting a positive, productive working environment. Liaise with senior management during site meetings and ensure that any instructions or project changes are communicated to the crew and implemented.
Requirements:
* 5+ years of experience as a Site Manager, Foreman, or similar supervisory role in construction, with a history of successfully delivering projects (residential or commercial).
* Strong leadership and people-management skills – able to effectively direct on-site personnel and subcontractors, plan work sequences, and drive performance.
* Excellent knowledge of construction techniques, processes, and best practices. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and method statements.
* Valid Safe Pass card and up-to-date Manual Handling certification are required. Certification in First Aid is also highly desirable, and any PSCS (Project Supervisor Construction Stage) training are an advantage.
* Solid understanding of Health & Safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment at all times.
* Strong organisational and time-management abilities to handle the scheduling of tasks, deliveries, and inspections efficiently. Attention to detail in record-keeping and site administration.
* Problem-solving aptitude and the capacity to make sound decisions quickly when unforeseen issues arise on site.
* Good communication skills for interacting with project managers, clients’ representatives, and the on-site team. Ability to report clearly on progress and issues.
* Relevant trade background (e.g. carpentry, bricklaying) or a qualification in construction/building management is beneficial, though not strictly required. A full driving licence is preferred for traveling to site locations.
