Working collaboratively with other tax, finance, legal and technology colleagues to ensure Dunnes Stores is approaching the digital era internationally in a cohesive and adaptable manner.Key responsibilities:Preparation of returns and management of indirect tax compliance lifecycle for Dunnes Stores groupBeing the indirect tax subject matter expert on key business projects, including new regulatory and e-legislation projectsMonitoring international legislative changes that may impact Dunnes StoresBusiness tax technical support for day-to-day activities, process and data accuracy reviews, and building trusted partnershipsAdapting and monitoring tax data governance proceduresDriving continuous improvements, including setting requirements for automation and digital reporting capabilitiesDeveloping leadership reporting and key metrics to increase efficiency and effectiveness to positively contribute strategic value to the businessDetailed Responsibilities:Managing the complete indirect tax compliance lifecycle for the Dunnes Stores Group. Ensuring all returns, reporting and payments are filed accurately and on time.Managing the tax related reporting and tax payment obligations under ESG regulations. Working collaboratively with sustainability compliance and other business areas to ensure reporting and process needs are aligned and understood.Keeping up to date with legislation, regulations, guidance, and interpretations through case law for all jurisdictions where DS trade and provide Head of department with regular updates.Creating tax requirements documentation for legislative changes or business projects for system or process changes required and project engagement to completion.Ensuring ongoing compliance and maintenance of systems and processes required for digital legislation and auditing purposes.Support and maintenance of all documentation required to meet Tax Governance requirements.Developing enhanced reporting for all indirect taxes by providing clear requirements to the areas responsible for data capture, tax configuration and report developmentMonitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of people, process, and technology to meet indirect tax obligations.Monitoring thresholds for online sales of goods globally for registration obligations and VAT treatment considerations.Assist with ITX registrations and certifications across various jurisdictions.Supporting Head of Tax in providing clear guidance and governance to all business areas of their obligations in relation to VAT and other indirect taxes and monitoring to ensure they are meeting same.Ensuring appropriate segregation of duties for data preparation, analysis, review, and approvals when engaging with business on tax matters.To seek approval from shareholders for all prioritized changes, submissions, and payments necessaryEssential skills:Qualified AITI CTA or equivalent7+ years Indirect Tax Compliance and Advisory experienceExcellent written, oral, analytical and presentation skillsThe ability to communicate complex tax concepts clearly to non-tax audiencesStrong team player with a commitment to ensure team successProject management experiencePreferred skills:Experience working on digital legislation implementationSupply chain process improvement and tax automation projectsSpanish languageInternational VAT/GST experienceERP (Oracle) tax configurationsPlastic packaging tax and other environmental, social and governance (ESG) related taxesBenefits:Competitive salary.Comprehensive benefits package including our employee discount.Opportunities for professional development and career progression.A dynamic and collaborative work environment focused on innovation and growth.Dunnes Stores is an equal opportunity employer.
