Maintenance Supervisor - Initial 18 month fixed term contract
Our client is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join their team in Cork. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day activities of the Maintenance Department on site, ensuring all products are manufactured in compliance with GMP guidelines. This role is pivotal in driving a culture of continuous improvement and maintenance excellence through the Maintenance Excellence Programme (MEP).
The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining the Equipment Preventative Maintenance (P.M.) and Calibration schedules, managing stores stock and spare parts lists, and ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Organize staff within the department, including holiday cover and Time Management System (TMS) review.
* Oversee timekeeping and holiday requests.
* Ensure maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated to execute the maintenance program safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
* Maintain training, safety awareness, and attendance records, ensuring technicians are trained on the latest operating procedures.
* Manage all facility and live utility maintenance and upkeep.
* Organize, control, and report on Preventative Maintenance and Calibration activities.
* Manage work requests, ensuring proper organization, control, and reporting.
* Assist in preparing departmental budgets.
* Establish and maintain a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders, spare parts, time allocation, and maintenance history.
* Maintain calibration systems and compliance, managing discrepancies, KPIs, and SOPs related to calibration.
* Lead departmental audits.
* Supervise and coordinate reliability engineering activities, including departmental metric reporting to management and external stakeholders.
* Analyze QA data related to equipment malfunctions to improve equipment availability and reduce downtime.
* Proactively anticipate and resolve maintenance problems, identifying opportunities for process improvement.
* Initiate and execute projects aimed at improving efficiency and reducing operating costs.
* Track, analyze, and improve key maintenance performance indicators such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, and schedule adherence.
* Actively participate in the Change Control committee regarding equipment changes.
* Conduct employee performance reviews based on job descriptions, evaluating technician competency, knowledge, and contributions.
* Ensure statutory inspections related to maintenance are completed on schedule.
* Direct, maintain, and enforce safety programs within the maintenance department, reviewing safety records to ensure maximum safety standards for all technicians.
Qualifications
* Craft Qualification in electrical or mechanical trades.
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry or a similar regulated environment.
* Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong problem-solving abilities.
