Job Title: Senior Health and Safety Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive health and safety function across our organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement a Group Health and Safety strategy in line with ISO 45001 framework.
* Design and maintain health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with HSE legislation and industry best practices.
* Conduct risk assessments and develop safe systems of work to ensure compliance with legislation and industry standards.
* Oversee site-specific H&S initiatives across all locations, including Tivoli, Tramore Road, Naas, and Greystones.
* Deliver staff training and toolbox talks on health and safety, manual handling, PPE use, traffic management, and other relevant topics.
* Monitor and improve site safety in relation to vehicle movement, pedestrian safety, storage practices, and space management.
* Conduct regular site inspections and audits, identifying hazards and ensuring corrective actions are taken.
* Investigate and report on accidents, incidents, and near misses, implementing preventative measures.
* Maintain and update H&S documentation, including policies, procedures, and risk registers.
* Liaise with external agencies, auditors, insurance companies, and regulatory bodies as required.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in a similar Health and Safety role, ideally within distribution, logistics, warehousing, or manufacturing.
* Experience in the ISO 45001 management system and its use in H&S auditing.
* Knowledge of ISO 9001.
* Relevant Health and Safety qualification (e.g., Higher Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, IOSH, or equivalent).
* Strong understanding of relevant H&S legislation and best practice.
* Experience in staff training and the delivery of H&S inductions and materials.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and health and safety reporting software.
* Familiarity with transport safety, vehicle/pedestrian segregation, and warehousing environments is desirable.
* First Aid, Fire Safety, or Manual Handling Instructor qualifications are an advantage.
