Job Description:
The Behaviour Analyst will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring behaviour intervention programmes and IEP (individualised education program) goals to support children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), within an early intervention setting. The role involves collaboration with families, teachers, occupational therapists, psychologists and speech and language therapists, to ensure evidence-based interventions are delivered effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct skills assessments through VB-MAPP (Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program) to identify children's strengths and areas of need.
Conduct functional behaviour assessments to identify target behaviours, determine their underlying functions, and develop tailored intervention strategies to support each child's needs.
Develop and implement individualised behaviour support plans using evidence- based principles of ABA.
Provide direct intervention to children in individual and group settings to promote communication, social, adaptive, and academic skills.
Train, supervise, and support teaching staff, therapists, and parents in implementing ABA strategies consistently across environments.
Collect, analyse, and interpret behavioural data to monitor progress and adjust intervention plans accordingly.
Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team (including speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and teachers) to deliver holistic early intervention support.
Prepare reports and contribute to Individualised Education Plans (IEPs).
Participate in ongoing professional development to ensure the highest standards of practice and compliance with best practice guidelines.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required:
Master's degree in applied Behaviour Analysis.
Professional certification in Behaviour Analysis (e.g., BCBA, IBAO, ISBA, or equivalent)
or working towards certification.
At least 2 years' experience working with children with autism an educational or
clinical setting.
Strong knowledge of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) principles and strategies.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and report-writing skills.
Ability to train and support staff and families in behaviour support practices.
