Job Title: Community Benefits Manager
Role Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced professional to lead the development and delivery of community engagement, social value, and local economic inclusion initiatives across our construction projects.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with internal teams, local authorities, community groups, and subcontractors to ensure our projects provide meaningful and lasting benefits to the communities we serve.
Main Responsibilities:
* Community Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with local residents, community organisations, educational institutions, and key stakeholders. Organise and lead community consultations, site visits, and open days to foster transparency and trust. Act as the primary contact for community enquiries, concerns, and feedback.
* Social Value Delivery: Develop and implement community benefit plans aligned with national and local policies, including environmental, social, and governance standards. Drive targeted programmes focused on local employment, apprenticeships, training opportunities, and SME engagement. Monitor, evaluate, and report on key performance indicators related to social value and community impact.
* Collaboration & Partnership Building: Engage subcontractors and suppliers to encourage local procurement and inclusive recruitment practices. Forge partnerships with local charities, schools, and skills organisations to maximise community investment and impact.
* Monitoring & Reporting: Track progress and prepare comprehensive reports for internal stakeholders, local authorities, and public sector clients. Ensure compliance with all relevant social, environmental, and corporate responsibility standards and legislation.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Public Policy, Construction Management, Urban Planning, Social Work, Communications, Community Development, or related disciplines.
* 3 to 5 years' experience in community engagement, social value delivery, or stakeholder management—preferably within construction or infrastructure sectors.
* Strong understanding of public sector procurement processes, community benefit clauses, and Environmental, Social, and Governance practices.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Proven ability to manage competing priorities and build collaborative working relationships.
* Familiarity with social value reporting tools such as the TOMs Framework is advantageous.
* Knowledge of relevant policy and legislation.

* Professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) are advantageous.
