Quantity Surveyor (Civil Engineering / Infrastructure)
Crewit Resourcing is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of multiple civil engineering/infrastructure projects across the Midlands. You will work closely with senior leadership, project management, and site teams to ensure cost control, value protection, and commercial compliance.
This role offers genuine long-term progression within a growing contractor and exposure to high-value projects in roads, utilities, groundworks, and public realm.
Responsibilities:
* Support the commercial strategy and financial performance of assigned projects.
* Manage subcontractor and supplier packages, including preparation of payment applications and approvals.
* Track, analyse, and report project costs, budgets, cash flow and forecasts.
* Prepare, submit, and agree on interim valuations, variations/claims, and final accounts.
* Produce regular cost/value reports, highlighting risk, opportunity, and project performance.
* Maintain accurate subcontractor/supplier contractual records and commercial documentation.
* Ensure works are administered in line with contract requirements and company procedures.
* Assist with estimating, tender analysis, and preparation of tender submissions for upcoming works.
Requirements:
* 5–8 years post-graduate experience in a Quantity Surveyor role.
* Experience working on civil engineering/infrastructure projects (e.g. groundworks, utilities, drainage, roads, enabling works, public realm).
* Strong commercial awareness with the ability to work to tight deadlines and quality standards.
* Confident managing subcontractor accounts and commercial paperwork.
* Strong reporting ability (cost reports, CVR-style reporting, valuations).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage professionally with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
* Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to risk and value.
* Good IT skills: ideally familiar with AutoCAD, Cost-ex (or similar cost management tools), and Microsoft Office (Word/Excel).
Qualifications (Desirable)
* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Commercial Management, or a related field.
* Chartered, or actively working towards chartership (SCSI / RICS / CIOB or equivalent).
* Understanding of CVR processes, cost planning, and commercial reporting.
* Willingness to continue professional development in contract law, negotiation, and commercial best practice.
