Job Title: Oracle Developer Location: Dublin Onboarding will be onsite in Athlone, with remote working arrangements thereafter. Ongoing attendance at the office will be minimal. Contract: 12-Months+ Overview: We are seeking an experienced Oracle Developer to join our team on a 12-month contract. This is a senior-level role requiring 7+ years of extensive professional experience in Oracle development and related technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for the support and maintenance of key Oracle applications, including Payroll and Pensions applications, and will play a critical role in leading major client engagements and complex projects. Payroll experience is a significant plus, and an interest in working on payroll projects is essential. Awareness of Public Sector Pension Schemes would also be desirable. Key Responsibilities: Support and maintain Oracle applications, including HR Payroll and Pensions systems. Act as the senior responsible person on major client engagements, ensuring successful delivery of complex projects and programmes. Lead a high-performing team of professionals, coordinating contributions from other specialists to deliver joint projects. Work independently and use your own initiative to resolve complex issues and manage priorities effectively. Engage proactively with stakeholders, demonstrating the ability to ask insightful questions and build strong working relationships. Apply a strong theoretical base and best practice principles to the subject matter context. Facilitate the achievement of project goals and ensure robust, up-to-date documentation is maintained for key business-critical customised database routines, including clear data lineage and code commentary. Assist with database design and implementation. Develop and maintain PL/SQL database objects to support development teams across the department. Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, including performance tuning. Identify shortcomings in the database system and recommend improvements. Advise developers on best practice and optimal approaches in the use of PL/SQL. Provide support for data analysis and data-driven decision making. Complete assigned tasks across all phases of the development lifecycle within agreed timeframes. Develop customised reports as required. Mentor and facilitate skills transfer to department staff. Undertake any other tasks deemed appropriate to the role. Essential Skills and Experience: 7+ years of extensive professional experience in Oracle development or a related field. Advanced PL/SQL development skills. Proficiency with Oracle Development Toolkit, Oracle Forms and Reports. Strong experience in supporting and maintaining complex database systems. Proven experience of leading complex projects/programmes. Ability to coordinate and lead high-performing teams. Strong engagement skillset with the confidence to ask questions, challenge assumptions, and build relationships with key stakeholders. Ability to work independently and take initiative to solve problems and drive tasks forward. Experience working with complex data and providing robust analysis. Payroll experience is a significant plus; an interest in payroll projects is essential. Awareness of Public Sector Pension Schemes is highly desirable.
