An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist wishing to develop and consolidate skills in the field of adult acquired disorders of Communication and Swallowing.

You will join a friendly and dynamic team of 10 Speech and Language Therapists based at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness serving the North Highland Area, and covering the full range of Adult Acquired specialisms. Raigmore Hospital is a busy general hospital providing a comprehensive service to the people of the Highlands.

Sessions are mainly providing communication rehabilitation to inpatients in the Stroke Unit and the Neuro Rehabilitation Unit in Raigmore. There would also be some outpatient sessions covering the full range of neurological, voice, head and neck surgery and fluency cases. You will have access to a Videofluoroscopy service, a Joint Voice and Swallowing Clinic, AAC resources and Specialist SVR support for Laryngectomy patients. You will assist with all specialist services, providing valuable experience for career development. In-house Dysphagia Training will be provided.

The SLT Team has a strong commitment to Professional Development, supervision and Quality improvement.

A BSc, or equivalent, in Speech Pathology and Therapeutics, is essential, along with registration with the Health and Care Professions Council and evidence of a special interest in Adult Acquired Disorders. Registration with RCSLT is preferred. Ideally should hold a driving licence

Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part-time hours will be adjusted on a pro-rata basis. There will be an increase in the hourly rate to ensure that pay remains unaffected.
