OverviewDirector, Inventory Management, Pharmacy Care Services (PCS) – Dublin / Letterkenny. This role leads a new integrated business planning (IBP) function within OptumRx's Procurement department, including sales & operations planning (S&OP), forecasting and demand planning, inventory planning, and supplier collaboration. The position reports to the Sr. Director and requires strategic leadership, relationship management, and operational execution to drive health outcomes and supply chain performance. This is a Fortune 5 healthcare company offering challenging work, growth opportunities, and a culture that values diversity and inclusion.Primary ResponsibilitiesDeploy a new demand forecasting and supplier collaboration system.Apply deep knowledge of S&OP, forecasting systems, inventory planning, and demand-supply alignment.Develop and execute a clear demand planning strategy and manage a high-performing team responsible for all aspects of demand planning.Partner with business leaders to understand clients, members, market dynamics, and marketing strategies to drive the demand forecasting process and achieve objectives.Ensure the demand planning process delivers the business plan with operational excellence.Own processes for product life cycle, seasonality, and launches; manage aligned plans and new/losing business considerations.Engage leaders to resolve strategic demand issues via analysis and marketplace assessment of risk/benefit tradeoffs.Act as a key liaison between executive leadership and operational teams.Lead and support Lean Six Sigma-based process improvements.Own and govern demand and supply planning systems, including Procure-to-Pay.Facilitate and own the S&OP monthly cycle; collaborate with operations, fulfillment, and procurement to optimize inventory and lead times.Lead the implementation of advanced planning applications (e.g., Kinaxis) and forecasting tools/methodologies.Lead supplier collaboration initiatives to improve service levels and reduce stockouts; establish supplier-specific collaboration processes.Provide leadership and subject matter expertise across global sites for S&OP, materials planning, inventory management, and supplier collaboration.Develop and mentor Demand Planners and Analysts; drive continuous improvement and cost-efficient inventory optimization.Develop functional, market-level, and site strategies, priorities, production plans, and organizational alignment.Identify and resolve technical, operational, and organizational problems beyond the immediate team; initiate improvement programs.Required QualificationsProven experience in forecasting and supply chain, preferably within healthcare or pharmaceuticals.Extensive experience leading people and managing teams.Experience with demand planning software and S&OP/S&IOP/CPFR processes.Experience across supply chain elements: planning, fulfillment, purchasing, warehousing, and inventory management.Experience with change management and work redesign initiatives.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent experience.Familiarity with forecasting software platforms and advanced Excel.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; highly collaborative leadership and facilitation abilities.Ability to lead effectively in cross-functional environments and manage cross-operating group resources without direct reports.Excellent communication across all levels of the organization.Leadership CompetenciesStrategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset.Ability to influence and build consensus across senior leadership.High emotional intelligence and situational awareness.Ability to lead through change and foster innovation.Legal and Diversity NotePlease note you must currently be eligible to work and remain indefinitely without any restrictions in the country to which you are making an application.
