Bakery Manager – Co. Wexford
Excel Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting a Bakery Manager on behalf of our client's supermarket in Co. Wexford. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced bakery professional to take full responsibility for a high-performing in-store bakery, driving quality, sales, and team performance in a fast-paced retail environment.
Salary: €38k – €40k
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the daily operation of the bakery department, ensuring consistent quality and availability of products
2. Lead, train, and motivate the bakery team to deliver high standards and excellent customer service
3. Drive bakery sales, margins, and profitability while maintaining tight control of waste and stock levels
4. Ensure products are prepared, baked, and presented to the highest standards
5. Manage ordering, stock rotation, and inventory control
6. Ensure full compliance with HACCP, food safety, and health & safety regulations
7. Plan production schedules in line with trading patterns and promotional activity
8. Monitor KPIs and implement improvements to enhance department performance
9. Work closely with store management to support overall store objectives
Requirements:
10. Previous experience as a Bakery Manager, Head Baker, or Senior Bakery Supervisor within supermarket or retail bakery
11. Strong knowledge of scratch baking, bakery production, and food safety standards
12. Excellent leadership and organisational skills
13. Proven ability to manage KPIs, margins, and waste control
14. Hands-on approach with a passion for quality and customer satisfaction
15. Flexible to work across store trading hours, including early starts and weekends
