Job Title:
We are seeking a highly motivated Financial Accountant to join our team in Ireland.
This role will be responsible for providing accurate financial reporting, general ledger accounting, statutory compliance, and local tax/VAT reporting.
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting principles, experience in a multinational environment, and is comfortable working across teams and jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
* Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local GAAP and group accounting policies.
* Prepare monthly management reports, variance analysis, and supporting schedules.
* Assist in the preparation and filing of VAT, Intrastat, and other regulatory tax returns for Ireland and potentially other EMEA countries.
* Support payroll accounting and related reconciliations.
* Liaise with external auditors and support the annual statutory audit and financial statement preparation.
* Ensure compliance with internal controls and SOX.
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to finance processes and ERP system usage.
* Collaborate with other departments and finance teams across Europe to ensure consistency and accuracy in reporting.
* Assist with ad hoc financial analysis, reporting, and special projects as required.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
* Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent).
* 2–4 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a multinational or shared services environment.
* Strong understanding of VAT regulations and accounting principles.
* Experience working with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.); SAP S/4HANA experience is a plus.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
* Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
* Self-starter with a proactive approach to process improvement.
