Senior Oracle Database Administrator
The Database Engineer plays a critical role within the Processing Service Delivery organization. This individual will lead large initiatives, be responsible for gathering requirements, performing analysis and implementation of database designs, providing consulting, and driving best practices, governance, and standards in Database Engineering at Mastercard.

The Processing Service Delivery team seeks a candidate who can solve problems, build and maintain databases, and lead Mastercard in database automation and best practices.

Database Engineering (DE) supports Mastercard's global Business Systems and Operations. As part of Technology Operations, DE promotes best practices, governance, and standards. As a Senior Engineer in the Processing Service Delivery team, you will deploy and manage various database technologies in test and production environments, supporting products from APIs to digital checkout and tokenization.
Major Accountabilities
* Oracle database administration with RAC.
* Oracle Data Guard.
* Oracle OEM.
* Oracle patching and upgrades.
* Oracle backups and restores.
* Oracle performance tuning.
* Oracle GoldenGate replication.
* Oracle Exadata.
• Managing various databases, especially in backup/recovery, performance tuning, and high availability. Technologies include Oracle, PostgreSQL, NoSQL (advantageous). The candidate should have experience with multiple database technologies.
• Infrastructure automation and scripting skills.
• Managing client expectations and proactive communication.
• Self-directed with the ability to identify tasks.
• Collaborating with other DBAs, participating in projects, and leading initiatives.
• Providing strategic suggestions for database management.
• Guiding best practices and supporting development teams.
• Evaluating new tools and products for database support.
• Planning data migrations.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or equivalent experience.
Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
* Deep knowledge of database management (installation, creation, performance, backup/recovery, replication).
* Experience with RDBMS and NoSQL databases, with relevant certifications.
* Understanding of security standards.
* Hands-on tuning and troubleshooting.
* Intermediate knowledge of Oracle replication, internals, middleware, and tuning.
* Experience with RMAN, PL/SQL, partitioning/sharding, RAC, and Oracle features.
* Knowledge of multiple database technologies.
* Understanding CAP theorem and data models.
* Supporting business processes and cross-functional teamwork skills.
