The Award Winning Ballygarry Estate Hotel & Spa, in the vibrant town of Tralee, currently has an exciting opportunity for a Gardener to join our outstanding gardening team!
The hotel gardener is responsible for maintaining the overall appearance of the hotel's outdoor spaces, including gardens, lawns, and planters. Their primary duties include planting, pruning, watering, fertilizing, and mowing the hotel grounds. They are also responsible for pest control, weed management, and tree maintenance.
Specific job responsibilities of a hotel gardener may include:
Planning, designing, and maintaining the hotel's outdoor spaces to ensure they are visually appealing and well-maintained.
Planting and caring for a variety of plants, flowers, shrubs, and trees within the hotel grounds.
Regularly watering and fertilizing plants to ensure their optimal growth and health.
Pruning and trimming plants, hedges, and trees to maintain their shape and promote healthy growth.
Monitoring and controlling pests, diseases, and weeds to prevent damage to the plants and overall appearance of the hotel grounds.
Performing regular inspections to identify any potential damage or issues and taking appropriate action to address them.
Operating and maintaining gardening equipment, such as mowers, trimmers, and irrigation systems. Handling the removal of dead plants, leaves, and other debris from the hotel grounds.
Collaborating with other departments, such as housekeeping or events, to ensure the outdoor spaces are well‑prepared for various occasions or events.
Adhering to health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Additionally, the hotel gardener may occasionally be involved in landscaping projects or renovations, collaborating with external contractors or designers to implement changes or improvements to the hotel's outdoor spaces.
You must remain totally flexible in your position and may be required to carry out other tasks as directed by management.
