Summary
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead operations at our Balbriggan logistics centre. This role will be central to the successful management of our logistics operations the site, ensuring effective and efficient site logistics, safe site management, and exceptional customer service.
The successful candidate will drive operational excellence, lead a high-performing team of ten people, and contribute to Ace Express Freight's reputation as a trusted global logistics partner.
Duties and responsibilities
Operational Leadership
* Oversee daily site logistics and transport workflows.
* Manage scheduling, routing, and fleet utilisation.
* Ensure inventory and resource control.
* Work with other sites and departments to maximise efficiencies in the business.
* Manage third party relationships on the site.
Compliance & Safety
* Own primary responsibility for health and safety standards throughout the site.
* Implement risk management practices to safeguarding people, assets, and service continuity
People Management
* Direct responsibility for the supervision and management of all site staff.
* Hands-on recruitment, training, and development of the site staff.
* Lead performance management and foster a positive team culture.
Performance & Reporting
* Monitor KPIs and operational metrics and deliver budgets and growth plans for the site.
* Prepare weekly reports for clients and senior management.
* Champion continuous improvement initiatives.
* Drive efficiency and cost reduction across operations and support sustainability and corporate responsibility goals.
* Onboard new clients to the site.
Experience, skills and competencies
* A Degree or relevant qualification in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or associated field.
* Proven logistics leadership experience with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop site operational teams effectively.
* Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), capable of building strong internal and external relationships.
* Strong relationship building, negotiation, and influencing abilities abilities, with prior experience working directly with logistics customers.
* Analytical, with excellent problem-solving and planning skills; adept at identify issues and finding solutions.
* Ability to drive continuous improvement in logistics, transport operations, and site processes.
* Extensive knowledge of operational principles and practices, with the ability to coach and mentor others.
* Confident decision-maker, willing to take the lead on people and business matters while bringing the team along.
