Position & Team Overview
This Senior Manager position is designed to balance two areas of responsibility; the role will be dedicated to leading the effective second line of defence ("2LOD") risk quality assurance of regulatory reporting process in order to provide comfort over the adequacy and effectiveness of existing controls. In addition, the role will involve risk oversight responsibilities for the Capital Markets businesses as well Liquidity and Interest Rate Risk oversight that fall within the remit of SIDAC’s Treasury function. This second line of defense role will have a key focus on quality risk assurance of regulatory returns submitted to the regulator by the regulatory reporting team.
What You’ll Do
 * Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
 * Lead and oversee Risk, Trade Floor Risk Management in SIDAC ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed/delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
 * Lead the risk quality assurance process for all Tier 1 regulatory returns, by sampling and verifying key data elements of returns providing a layer of quality assurance that supports the team in maintaining regulatory standards.
What You’ll Bring
 * Excellent understanding of and working knowledge of banking regulations with respect to liquidity, market risk and capital requirements, with associated in-depth familiarity with associated regulatory returns to support effective second-line risk review and quality assurance.
 * Direct experience of interfacing with the business, understanding their perspective of the overall risk appetite, and have the confidence and experience of semi autonomously making on-the-spot one-off decisions.
 * Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills to deal with all levels of staff and senior levels of management.
 * Excellent communication and presentation skills.
 * Advanced IT skills adaptable to a number of systems and applications.
 * Good understanding of financial markets.
 * Leadership skills as demonstrated by the management of a team of risk professionals.
