Job Description
Duties
This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.
YMCA Dublin are excited to provide an individual in gaining quality work experience and certified training in order to have a successful career in the Youth and Community Sector.
This three year phased scheme will include:
Year 1: Employment induction and fundamentals in Youth & Community work
Year 2: QQI qualifications and targeted learning
Year 3: Further responsibility with tasks, work placement, CV and interview preparation
All the above opportunities are aimed at increasing skill and knowledge in the area in order to gain a full time career in Youth Work. The successful candidate will need to have a genuine interest in the Youth and Community Sector.
Key Responsibilities
Support the planning and delivery of Community & Youth projects, events and programming.
Engage with local residents and young people to build relationships and encourage participation.
Assist in organising events, workshops and outreach activities.
Help set up and prepare spaces and materials for activities.
Promote initiatives through social media, photos, drop ins to schools, flyer drops to homes etc.
Gather community feedback to support programme development.
Assist with administrative duties, including inputting work records, community evaluations, feedback forms into our Lamplight software.
Undertaking practical training in community development, playwork, safeguarding, etc.
Abide by YMCA Policies and Procedures, including Child Protection and Health & Safety.
Any other duties related to the delivery of YMCA Youth & Community Services.
Further Information
The post holder will work 19.5 hours per week, Tuesday - Saturday.
Working hours will be over mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends. Flexibility will be required to meet the needs of the services.
Continuous training & laptop will be provided.
Location: Dublin 13 & Dublin 17. Parkside as primary location with DeVerdon Place as second working location.
