About the Project
The Ecologies of Governance project explores the emergence of inequality and economic basis of rulership in early medieval, kin-based societies. We conduct multi-proxy and comparative analyses of environmental and agrarian regimes in first millennium AD Britain and Ireland.
This research fellow will be a productive member of our team at Queen's University Belfast, collaborating with Newcastle University and Cardiff University.
Responsibilities
* Carry out field work for case study royal landscapes that form the focus of our project.
* Main responsibility for performing multi-proxy palaeoecological analysis to detail wider ecological contexts.
The successful candidate will have expertise cross-cutting areas such as palynology, diatoms, XRF, isotopic analysis etc.
The job entails independent research supervision technical analysis collaboration outreach.
Holding a PhD in Archaeology or closely related discipline is essential.
