About the Role
This Social Care Assistant position involves working directly with individuals, supporting them to gain valued roles in their lives and participate in creative activities. You will also advocate on their behalf, developing individualized plans that cater to their needs and preferences.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver person-centered support, promoting autonomy and independence
* Facilitate creative activities, enabling individuals to engage with their community
* Advocate on behalf of individuals, respecting their rights and dignity
* Develop and implement individualized plans, addressing specific needs and goals
* Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring compliance with regulations
Requirements
* Experience working in a person-centered manner, with a focus on autism-informed practice
* Ability to listen actively, empathize, and respect individual perspectives
* Excellent communication skills, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and collaboration
* Self-motivation, with a demonstrated ability to manage time effectively
* Flexibility to adapt to changing service demands and priorities
Desirable Qualities
* Working knowledge of New Directions standards and regulations
* Proficiency in IT skills, including data management and record-keeping
* Full driver's license, with a commitment to safe driving practices
