Construction Manager Job Description Carlow Travel within Ireland Terradrive Piling & Foundationswas established in 2005 by Managing Director Eddie Horkan.Below covers everything you need to know about what this opportunity entails, as well as what is expected from applicants.Since then, Terradrive has proved to be a leading piling partner on all small- and large-scale building projects.The Construction Managerwill oversee all phases of construction projects from initial planning through to completion, ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, and within budget.This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and hands-on experience with piling, ground beams, and other structural foundation works would be a distinct advantage.Key Responsibilities: Manage and supervise daily site operations with site manager, ensuring work progresses according to programme, quality standards, and project specifications.Lead Health & Safety onsite, implementing and enforcing company and statutory safety procedures, carrying out site audits, risk assessments, and ensuring toolbox talks are done.Prepare and assist with project estimating, cost analysis, and subcontractor pricing for piling, ground beams, and general construction works.Coordinate with the Site Manager for project the labour, materials, subcontractors, and equipment to ensure smooth workflow and timely project delivery.Review engineering drawings, specifications, and method statements, providing technical guidance where necessary.Liaise with clients, design teams, local authorities, and stakeholders, maintaining clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.Monitor site progress, produce progress reports, and address any issues impacting schedule or budget.Ensure all piling and ground beam works are carried out to the required technical standards and comply with industry regulations.Oversee quality control measures, carrying out inspections and resolving construction issues promptly.Support project close-out, including handover documentation, snagging, and final inspections.Willingness to travel regularly to project sites throughout Ireland.Requirements: Experience as a Construction Manager or Site Manager within the construction industry Experience in piling, foundations, and ground beam construction would be advantageous.Solid understanding of Health & Safety legislation (e.g., CDM regulations).Competence in cost control and interpreting technical drawings.Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
