Structural Engineers play a crucial role in the design and implementation of on-site structural works. ATG are working with an engineering and construction firm seeking a skilled professional to join their dynamic team.
The Structural Engineer will oversee on-site structural works, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines. This key role involves liaising with contractors, consultants, and the internal design team to ensure that structural elements are executed to the highest quality.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Conducting site inspections and monitoring structural works to ensure compliance with engineering designs and specifications.
2. Reviewing and interpreting technical drawings, plans, and calculations.
3. Liaising with architects, project managers, subcontractors, and local authorities.
4. Identifying potential design or construction issues and providing timely solutions.
5. Preparing site reports, maintaining records, and issuing snag lists as required.
6. Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations.
7. Assisting with structural design modifications or on-site adjustments when necessary.
8. Attending and contributing to site meetings and project updates.
9. Supporting quality assurance and quality control procedures on-site.
Requirements for this position include:
* Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Level 8 or above).
* Minimum 2–5 years' experience in a similar structural engineering or site-based role.
* Chartered or working towards Chartership (desirable).
* Strong understanding of construction processes, structural materials, and engineering codes.
* Proficient in AutoCAD and structural design software (e.g., Tekla, Revit, Robot, etc.).
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
* Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
