The role
A global pharmaceutical manufacturing company is seeking an Automation Engineer to join its onsite production support team at a high-volume regulated manufacturing facility.
This is a long-term contract role working a shift pattern (days/nights) supporting packaging and manufacturing operations through hands‑on automation and controls support.
Key Responsibilities
Provide frontline support for automated manufacturing system
Troubleshoot and resolve controls and system issues
Support continuous improvement and system upgrade
Assist with preventative maintenance and change control
Ensure compliance with GMP/GxP standard
Support operators and technicians with automation-related queries
Requirement
Degree qualified in Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, or related discipline
2–5 years’ experience in automation, controls, or manufacturing systems
Experience with PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems (Siemens preferred)
Exposure to industrial networks/data systems
Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
Pharma, medical device, or regulated manufacturing experience preferred
Experience with packaging systems, serialization, or vision systems would be an advantage
