Job Title: IT Desktop Support Technician (Backfill/Secondary Support)
Job Type & Location: Onsite || Longford, Ireland
Job Requirements:
Technical
* Minimum 3 years of experience providing IT Infrastructure field support, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and OS issues, ensuring compliance with hardware warranty and security requirements.
• Experience in installing, troubleshooting, and fixing desktops, printers, laptops, and peripherals, as well as desktop applications.
* Basic knowledge of enterprise LAN and WAN setups. Ability to perform hands-on support under instruction at sites.
* Ability to lift/move equipment up to 50 lbs.
* Expertise in desk-side support and PC break/fix, including basic administration of Windows, Mac, or Linux OS (preferred).
* Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and RDP.
* Support for peripherals and networking hardware: monitors, keyboards, mice, printers, fax machines, scanners, routers, switches, firewalls, racks, and data panels.
• Troubleshooting network and system issues with deductive reasoning and end-user cabling knowledge.
• Experience in call analysis, preventive actions, and problem management.
* Excellent communication skills with clients and management.
* Ability to work under deadlines, take ownership, and work with urgency.
* Preferably an Associate Degree in Electronics and CompTIA A+ Certification.
• Vendor certifications from OEMs (Dell, Toshiba, Lenovo, HP) are a plus.
* Experience with ticketing tools like ServiceNow or Remedy.
