Job description
We are currently seeking chefs across all grades to join our team and help deliver dishes that reflect our modern Irish gastro style. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a creative and dynamic kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and cook high-quality dishes, ensuring all meals meet Walker 1781's standards of flavour, presentation, and consistency.
* Work with seasonal, locally sourced produce to create dishes that blend traditional Irish flavours with a modern twist.
* Support kitchen preparation across lunch and evening services as required.
* Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant kitchen in line with HACCP standards.
* Collaborate with the Head Chef and wider team on menu development and daily specials.
* Ensure portion control and strive to minimise food waste.
Requirements:
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a professional kitchen, ideally in a gastropub, bistro, or modern Irish setting.
* Strong knowledge of traditional Irish cuisine and modern cooking techniques.
* Excellent time management and ability to perform in a busy, fast-paced kitchen.
* HACCP certified (or willing to obtain).
* A genuine passion for food, creativity, and attention to detail.
* A strong team player with a positive attitude and good communication skills.
