Clinical Nurse Manager II - Medical Oncology Location: Waterford, Ireland | Permanent | HSE Payscales We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager II to lead our Medical Oncology Day Ward.
This role provides clinical leadership, operational oversight, and governance to ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centered oncology and haematology services.
You will manage a skilled nursing team, coordinate systemic anti-cancer therapies (SACT), supportive therapies, patient education and holistic care, while promoting best practice, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities: Lead daily ward operations, staff allocation and workload management.
Provide expert nursing care and clinical guidance to oncology patients and staff.
Oversee chemotherapy administration, ARIA/IPIMS systems and patient scheduling.
Support audits, research, quality improvement, and policy development.
Mentor, develop, and supervise nursing staff.
Requirements: Registered with NMBI.
Post-registration Level 8+ qualification in Cancer Nursing.
5+ years post-registration experience in cancer nursing, including 2 years in a managerial role.
Evidence of career development, CPD and oncology nursing competence.
Management/leadership training or willingness to undertake.
