Plant Operations Manager (Co Clare) Key 2 Recruitmenthas been retained by an expanding global Chemical company, based in the Co Clare to recruit a Plant Operations Manager to join their Irish operation on a permanent basis.
Overview. The Operations Manager will oversee all aspects of the chemical production process, from raw material issue to finished product shipment.
The role involves ensuring safety & security compliance, optimizing production processes, managing staff, and maintaining equipment.
The ideal candidate will be adept at problem solving, leadership, and possess a strong understanding of chemical processes and regulatory standards.
Roles & Responsibilities Description: Oversee daily operations of the chemical plant, ensuring that production targets, quality standards, and safety regulations are met.
Develop and implement strategies for process optimization, cost reduction, and quality enhancement.
Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure all equipment is in excellent working condition and downtime is minimized.
Lead, train, and develop a team of chemical technicians and other operational staff.
Compile and review production reports, prepare presentations for senior management, and participate in budgeting and forecasting activities.
Liaise with Innovation, QEHS, Supply Chain, Engineering and other departments to support new product development, process improvements and ensure seamless production integration.
Continuously analyse the current production processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Ensure that product meets quality standards and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Address and resolve any issues related to product quality.
Oversee adherence to health and safety protocols by the production team.
Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with all workplace regulations.
HPS Team Involvement to include 6 S Activities, PDCA, Gemba Board, KPIs etc.
Qualifications Minimum bachelors degree or equivalent certificate in Chemistry or related field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical production or a similar industrial environment, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
Strong understanding of chemical processes, production equipment, and safety protocols.
Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements in the chemical industry.
