Failte Solar specializes in supplying and distributing high-quality solar panels, battery storage solutions, and energy efficiency upgrades. We help homeowners and businesses across Ireland harness the power of the sun to reduce energy costs and carbon footprints.

Failte Solar is currently recruiting a Finance Officer to join our growing and experienced Finance team and play an important part in a sustainable energy future.

The role is based in Shannon with an immediate start, primarily onsite with some remote work possible.

Purpose of the Role

* Ensure the accurate processing of all financial transactions within established and agreed timeframes, particularly for Accounts Payable (mainly) and to a lesser extent Accounts Receivable and Banking.
* Invoice processing, payment batch generation, payment processing, supplier reconciliations.
* Reconcile statements and ledgers to resolve queries both internally and externally, ensuring key documentation is handled promptly and professionally.
* Maintain good relationships with vendors and respond to their queries promptly.
* Provide technical knowledge as required (e.g., VAT & RCT, etc.).
* Ensure all accounts are reconciled appropriately and queries are resolved, so accounts accurately reflect the business's true position.
* Adhere to key procedures, payments, and submissions, including expenses policy, RCT rules, Revenue reporting, and Vendor Payment runs.
* Collaborate with other Finance team members to ensure information is provided as needed and related processes are managed properly.
* Review and maintain credit card transactions and reconcile vendor account balances.
* Review, validate, and process various accounting transactions.
* Maintain ledgers and process financial transactions according to defined procedures, ensuring compliance with company policies and Revenue requirements.
* Perform Month-End processing of journals and GL reconciliations.
* Assist in preparing Month-End reports.
* Support year-end audit requirements.
* Contribute to continuous improvement and undertake other duties as required.
* Be aware of GDPR and manage processes within your scope accordingly.


Qualifications

* At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
* Knowledge and understanding of accounting systems.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
