Ideally you'll be living within a 25-mile radius of Leeds.
As a Field Engineer with Indigo, you'll play a crucial role in delivering top-tier telecoms engineering infrastructure and technical services to our customers and end clients. This position requires a high level of technical competence and a commitment to maintaining Indigo’s Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) standards.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Field Deployment & Maintenance: Provide first-line support for deployment and maintenance, including new build activities, responding to maintenance calls within SLA, fault finding, and hardware replacement with TAC assistance.
2. Installation & Commissioning: Perform installation and commissioning duties in project and maintenance environments.
3. Timely Response: Ensure timely intervention to meet SLA requirements.
4. On-Call Support: Participate in the on-call rota for out-of-hours support.
5. Communication: Keep the Indigo GSC updated and provide feedback to Line and Project Managers.
6. Documentation: Complete all required paperwork within SLA.
7. Technical Tasks: Fault finding, installation of metalwork, fibre and cable pulling, copper termination, and testing.
8. Risk & Safety: Manage Risk Assessment and Method Statement documentation; maintain SHEQ standards.
9. Skill Development: Develop fault diagnosis skills using OTDR and Ethernet/OSA testing.
10. Vendor Products & Audits: Install vendor-supplied products and manage HSE audits.
11. Customer Satisfaction & Ownership: Ensure deployment success and take ownership of faults until resolution.
About You
* Qualified and experienced in telecoms infrastructure, with hands-on installation and commissioning skills.
* Proficient in fibre splicing and familiar with equipment from Nokia, Juniper, Tellabs, Infinera, and Ciena.
* CSCS/ECS certification required.
* Excellent communication, report writing skills, and ability to work under pressure.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and Visio.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
