JOB TITLE: Servers REPORTS TO: Restaurant Manager / Supervisor POSITION SUMMARY: Ensure that all guests are served to the Company's standards in the Restaurant and bar area.
Take orders, serve (where applicable, prepare) food and beverages to guests as per the restaurant's standards in a friendly, timely and efficient manner.
The ideal candidate must have a positive attitude and engaging personality and must be available to work shifts including weekends.
A keen interest in food strong wine knowledge is a must.
SERVER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Greet guests and presents them with the menu.
Inform guests about the special items for the day and menu changes if any.
Suggest food and beverages to the guest and also try to up sell.
Obtain revenues, issue receipts, accept payments, return the change.
Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.
Fill in for absent staff as needed Communicate with the guest and provide assistance with their queries.
Co - ordinate with the bus person, kitchen staff, bar staff to ensure smooth operation and guest satisfaction.
Serve food and beverage to the guest as per the course of order.
Observe guests and ensure their satisfaction with the food and service.
Promptly respond to guest with any additional request.
Maintain proper dining experience, deliver items, fulfill customer needs, offer desserts and drinks, remove courses, replenish utensils, refill glasses.
Properly open and pour wine at the table side.
Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
Must have some familiarity with basic cooking skills.
Assist bus persons with stocking and maintaining the restaurant bar stock levels and side station.
Help other areas of the restaurant such as answering telephones and completing financial transactions.
Must know all food, liquor, beer, wine and retail offered Apply positive suggestive sales approach to guide Guests Assist in keeping the restaurant clean and safe Provide responsible service of alcoholic beverages Must follow all cash handling policies and procedures Report to property on time and in proper uniform Requirements: Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages Must have clear written and verbal communication skills Must have the physical abilities to carry out the functions of the job description Must be able to work under pressure in a very busy restaurant environment Must be able to responsibly handle cash transactions Must be able to consolidate and coordinate needs for all tables within their station Must be able to carry food and beverages Must be knowledgeable about wine varietals and food pairings Must be able to work in a team environment At least three years experience as a food server or bartender within a restaurant.
Any related customer service/oriented experience will be considered Ability to comprehend and communicate in fluent English Participate in employee training programmes provided by the Company
