Our Paving & Walling division is a high‑performing business unit serving both Irish and UK markets. With industry‑leading expertise and state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facilities, we produce and retail a comprehensive range of premium paving and walling products.
We are seeking a proactive and results‑driven Maintenance Manager to lead our site maintenance operations. Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic and day‑to‑day management of all maintenance activities‑mechanical and electrical‑ensuring optimal equipment performance, team accountability, and continuous improvement across the function.
Responsibilities
* Lead the maintenance function across 5 production facilities, ensuring alignment with operational goals and safety standards.
* Drive a culture of accountability within the maintenance team, ensuring ownership of actions, timely resolution of issues, and adherence to performance expectations.
* Plan and manage scheduled maintenance and plant shutdowns to minimise downtime and maximise equipment availability (Up Time).
* Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventative and corrective maintenance programmes, with a focus on root cause analysis and long‑term reliability.
* Optimise team efficiency through effective resource planning, skills development, and performance monitoring.
* Maintain and enhance the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to support planning, inventory control, and data‑driven decision‑making.
* Oversee the maintenance storeroom, ensuring optimal stock levels, critical spares availability, and cost‑effective inventory management.
* Manage relationships with external contractors and suppliers, including cost control, service level agreements, and vendor performance.
* Ensure maintenance expenditures are tracked, controlled, and kept within approved budgets, identifying cost‑saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
* Collaborate with Production and Operations teams to align maintenance priorities with production schedules and improvement initiatives.
* Provide technical training and mentorship to team members and cross‑functional colleagues to build internal capability and support informed decision‑making.
Candidate Profile
* Time‑served trade qualification and/or third‑level degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).
* Minimum 6 years’ experience in a similar maintenance leadership role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
* Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive accountability, and foster a high‑performance culture.
* Strong understanding of OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and experience implementing engineering solutions to improve it.
* Proficient in maintenance planning systems, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and problem‑solving skills.
