Brothers of Charity Services Ireland offers a variety of residential, day, respite, assessment, and clinical services to individuals with varying degrees of intellectual disability.
Many of the people we support have additional needs, including autism, behaviours that challenge, and physical or sensory disabilities.
Services and supports are provided to over 6,500 people, and their families, throughout Counties Clare, Cork, Galway, Kerry, Kilkenny, Limerick, Roscommon, Tipperary, Wexford and Waterford.

Description
Brothers of Charity Services Ireland (BOCSI) operates in the regions of Galway, Limerick, Cork, Waterford, Tipperary, Clare and Roscommon with ****+ staff providing services to over **** individuals, and has an annual budget of approximately €220M.
Contract Duration: Temporary Part-Time Fixed-term, 24 months
Location: National role with some travel required
The role can be based in any of our regional offices which include Waterford, Cork, Limerick, Clare, Galway and Roscommon.
Occasional travel to our National Head Office in Clarinbridge, Co.
Galway will be a requirement.
Salary Scale: Grade V (Clerical)
Overview of the Role
The Brothers of Charity Services Ireland, in partnership with the School of Law at the University of Galway, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Project Coordinator to lead the implementation of the PEER (People Educating for Empowerment and Rights) programme.
This two-year, peer-led, rights-based initiative aims to promote community safety, inclusion, and justice for adults with intellectual disabilities.
The successful candidate will coordinate all aspects of the project, including recruitment and training of Peer Educators, workshop delivery, stakeholder engagement, and contribute to the project evaluation.
Qualifications / Experience / Skills
A relevant 3rd level qualification in the Health Sector (e.g., Social Care or Social Work, Physiotherapist, Speech & Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist).
The successful candidate must be registered with CORU.
Minimum of five years' experience working in disability services, preferably with experience of advocacy, training, or safeguarding.
Demonstrated experience in facilitating training or workshops with people with intellectual disabilities.
Strong understanding of safeguarding principles, risk management, and rights-based practice.
Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary and multi-agency teams.
Experience in applied research or evaluation within social care, disability, or education contexts.
Full, clean driving licence and access to own transport.
Familiarity with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) and inclusive education methodologies.
Experience co-producing projects with people with lived experience.
Proficiency in developing accessible materials (e.g., Easy Read or plain language).
Reporting / Responsible To
Breda Golden – National Head of Quality Training Safeguarding and Advocacy
With project supervision from Dr. Charles O Mahony (School of Law) NUIG.
Working Hours
21 hours per week based on a 5 day roster.
Flexibility in relation to your hours of work will be required in order to meet service needs from 8am – 8pm.
The Brothers of Charity model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual.
Remuneration
Department of Health Grade V (Clerical) salary scale (01/08/2025) – €51,718 x 4 increments – A Long Service Increment (LSI) – €59,969 pro rata per annum is payable after 3 years on the maximum of the scale.
A final Long Service Increment (LSI) – €61,866 pro rata per annum is payable after a further 3 years.
This post is temporary, part-time and pensionable on a fixed-term basis for 24 months.
A probationary period of nine months from the date of appointment applies to the post.
The employment may be terminated at any time during the probationary period should the employer find that the appointee is unsuitable to continue employment.
The probation period may be extended at the Employer's discretion.
Travel
A full clean driving licence and use of a car is an essential requirement of the post.
The person appointed must provide his/her own car and must furnish an indemnity from insurers in favour of the employer.
Travelling expenses at the appropriate rate will be paid in respect of travel necessarily performed in the discharge of duty.
