Board Director - Brightwater Group - Specialist Accountancy Recruiter
Our client a leading Insurer are hiring a FinancialAccountant to join their Dublin team. This is initially being offered on a 9 month FTC with a view to extension. Flexible Hybrid working.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, evolving organisation with a long‑term, complex portfolio of policies and new strategic initiatives underway. You’ll play a key role in the company’s financial reporting, planning, and governance, helping to ensure high‑quality, accurate, and timely financial information that supports decision‑making at every level.
About the Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Financial Accountant will be responsible for supporting the company’s monthly and quarterly accounting and reporting processes, including consolidation, expense management, and group reporting. The role offers broad exposure across finance, audit, and regulatory reporting activities, with opportunities to get involved in key projects and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage monthly and quarterly financial close processes
* Oversee expense reporting, allocation, and budget vs. actual analysis
* Support statutory audit processes and liaise with external auditors
* Prepare management information reports including key performance and margin analysis
* Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
* Ensure accurate and timely completion of group and regulatory reporting
* Support Solvency II reporting for both Group and Solo entities
* Maintain robust finance procedures, documentation, and internal controls
* Contribute to ad hoc finance projects and process enhancements
Skills & Experience
* Newly qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA)
* Big Four or top‑tier professional services experience preferred
* Experience in financial services an advantage
* Solid knowledge of IFRS and Irish GAAP
* Excellent analytical, organisational, and Excel skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Proactive, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently
