NexVentur is seeking a Site Engineer to join a leading civil engineering and utility contractor on a major Electrical Infrastructure project in County Mayo.Our client is a framework partner on national utilities projects and is at the forefront of this exciting project, in the Power/Renewables sector.This role is centered on the civil engineering aspects of electrical infrastructure, including HV (High Voltage) ducting, substation civils, and trenching. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Site Engineer with a strong civil background to work on high-value, essential utility projects that are critical to the region's infrastructure development.2+ year' project in the West of Ireland.Role & ResponsibilitiesAs Site Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring all civil works associated with the electrical infrastructure are executed to the highest technical standards.Precise setting out for trenching, ducting routes, joint bays, and substation foundations using Total Stations and GPS equipment.Managing complex "clash detection" on-site, ensuring new electrical infrastructure is installed safely around existing water, gas, and telecommunications services.Interpreting electrical schematics and civil design drawings to ensure compliance with ESB/EirGrid specifications and national standards.Supervising on-site crews and plant operators, ensuring production targets are met without compromising safety or quality.Ensuring all ducting depths, surround materials, and joint bay locations are accurately recorded and mapped for the client.Implementing strict safety protocols, particularly regarding "Work Near Live Services" and excavations, maintaining a zero-harm environment.Skills & ExperienceWe are looking for a candidate who combines traditional civil engineering skills with a specific understanding of the utility environment.3+ years' career experience as a Site Engineer.Direct experience in Electrical Civils (ducting, joint bays, or substation works) is desirable, though a strong background in general civils and utilities will be considered.Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related technical discipline.Proficiency in AutoCAD and the use of modern surveying equipment (Leica/Topcon).Deep understanding of Irish utility standards and the specific requirements for civil works within the power sector.CSCS Location of Underground Services (LUS) or Signing, Lighting & Guarding at Work would be a significant advantage.Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage site teams and communicate technical requirements clearly to both the client and the workforce.Full, clean driving licence is essential for travel across project locations in Mayo.Pay and packageExcellent salary and package depending on experienceCompany vehicle and fuel cardPensionWhat's nextIf you are interested in this role, please apply through LinkedIn, with an updated CV.
